Moorhead Cleanup Week rules

Clean-Up Week is held the first full week in May of each year. Crews will collect such items as appliances (limit 2 per residence), furniture and household goods at the curb on your scheduled garbage collection day. Items must be curbside by 5:00 a.m.

Appropriate fees ($15 minimum) will be charged for:

  • Lumber, concrete or other building materials
  • TVs or computer monitors curside
  • Trash set out before the start of cleanup week

There is no additional fee for disposal of these materials during Cleanup Week:

  • TVs or computer monitors can be disposed of during normal operating hours at the Clay County Landfill or Moorhead Transfer Station at no cost (not curbside)
  • Two appliances per household
  • We accept tires, but no rims
  • We accept empty propane tanks; valves do not need to be removed
  • Trash that is set out for curbside collection. Residents are reminded to place only regular garbage items out for curbside collection on regular garbage days to avoid being assessed special pick-up fees.

  • The Moorhead Transfer Station also accepts large items; it is open year-round Monday through Friday (8 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.). The station is located at 2727 Highway 10 East.

  • From April through October, you can take yard waste to the Moorhead Compost Site at Highway 75 and 15th Ave. North. It’s open Monday through Friday (8 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.) and Saturdays (8 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.)

  • Please see the Clay County site on the Cleanup Week home page for additional Clay County information.
